The Queen Charlotte Islands is an archipelago of more than 150 islands best viewed in comfort aboard the classic yacht Taconite. It has gained a reputation for outstanding natural beauty and a remarkable First Nations culture. Decktop wildlife viewing in the Queen Charlotte Islands is varied and interesting. Taconite guests can watch various birds or catch site of migrating whales, seals and sea lions. There are freshwater streams in abundance as well as the ocean itself, to lure adventurous fishers to this unique spot. This group of islands nestled under the Alaska panhandle is the ancestral home of the Haida - the West Coast Aboriginals who have lived there for thousands of years.
